Commercially, Mimi has pitched everything from detergents and fabric softeners to cough syrups and headache medicines.
Mimi is an active, robust member of the acting community. She is a member of both the Antaeus and InterAct Theatre Companies, and served on the LA and National Boards of SAG-AFTRA. She was involved in the historic vote to merge the two Unions. She also served on the Executive Committee of the Performers Peer Group of the Academy of TV Arts & Sciences.
Mimi’s other artistic talents include sculpting in clay, receiving an “Honorable Mention” at the LA County 7th Annual Union Artists Show. Learning how to water ski in her teens, Mimi won 14 trophies for Tricks & Slalom Events at East Coast Water Ski meets and became a certified scuba diver enjoying dives up and down the CA. Coast, in Hawaii, the Indian Ocean, and the Caribbean.
Affectionately called Mimi before she was a year old, both she and sister Dorothy Faith were child models for the John Robert Powers Agency in NYC (Mimi booked her first job at age 3 1/2). As a teen she sang and danced on a local TV show called “Teen Topper Revue.”, graduating from Newtown High in Elmhurst, NY. She studied at Emerson College in Boston before receiving her BA in Drama/Speech with a minor in Broadcasting from Hofstra College on Long Island.
A veteran of the theatre, Mimi has enjoyed a wide range of roles — from comedy to drama to musicals to Shakespeare and the classics. She made her Broadway debut in Neil Simon’s “I Ought to Be in Pictures,” when she went on for Joyce Van Patten. Her national tours include “The Prisoner of Second Avenue,” ‘Mornings At Seven” and “Same Time, Next Year,” as well as the LA/Denver tour of “Tribute” starring Jack Lemmon.
While cast in such New York stage productions as “Her Majesty the King” and “I Could Have Been a Kennedy”, on the West Coast Mimi has earned Drama-logue (“After The Fall”), ADA (“Only The Dead Know Burbank”) and L.A. Weekly awards (“The Front Room”) for local appearances.
Mimi has divided her time between film and TV work. As to the former she appeared in “The Master”, “Spring Break”, “Night of the Cyclone”, “Live Wire”, “The Pandora Project”, “Dandelion Dharma”, “What Would Jesus Do?”, “Christmas Mail” and the “The Last Tour”. On the smaller screen, Mimi had guest/co-star roles on such sitcoms as The “Mindy Project,” “Chasing Life,” “The Jeffersons,” “Seinfeld,” “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” “The Golden Girls,” “Will & Grace,” “Greek,” “One Big Family” starring Danny Thomas and “Carol & Company” starring Carol Burnett. Dramatic series work include “Cold Case,” “Providence,” “Chicago Hope,” “The Practice,” “Knot’s Landing,” “Columbo,” “St.Elsewhere,” “StarTrek” and “Numb3rs”.
